Use your Coastal Heritage ATM Card or your Coastal Heritage MasterMoney Debit Card at over 1,000 local SUM ATMs and save. ATMs included in the SUM Program agree to allow our customers to use marked ATMs without paying a surcharge. Look for the SUM logo when you use another bank’s ATM.
Contactless EMV Card
What is a contactless EMV card?
Contactless cards allow for purchases with a simple tap of your card to pay at checkout. Your Contactless EMV debit card provides all the same security advantages as chip cards, but with a much faster “tap and go” experience. Contactless EMV cards eliminate the frustration of waiting on a chip transaction, while providing the same EMV-level security.
Is my debit card a contactless?
You can tell if your debit card has contactless capabilities by looking for the contactless symbol on the lower right of your card
How does a contactless debit card work?
Contactless cards use a hidden, embedded computer chip and antenna. After you tap your contactless card at checkout, payment details are sent securely to the merchant. The data that is passed to the merchant is unique to that specific transaction and cannot be replicated. You’re in control because your debit card never leaves your hand at checkout.
Where can I make contactless payments?
Simply tap to pay anywhere you see the contactless symbol at checkout. If you don’t see the contactless symbol, your debit card can still be used by inserting your chip or swiping at checkout.
How close does the “tap” have to be to the checkout reader?
Typically, when you tap your card at checkout, it must be within an inch of the contactless symbol on the terminal at the counter. Please note that if you have more than one contactless card in your wallet, you should remove the specific card you would like to use rather than tapping your wallet against the reader.
Do I have to treat my debit card in any special way?
Treat your contactless card as you would any other card. Always know where your card is and keep it in a safe place. As a reminder, never write your PIN on your card.
Do I need to turn it on/off?
Contactless cards contain no battery and are always on and ready to use. If you prefer to block your card in between purchases for extra security, you may do so in our mobile app under “Manage Card Controls”.
Is my card secure?
Yes! Contactless cards provide the exact same level of security as EMV chip cards. In fact, contactless is even more secure because the cardholder name is not passed in the transaction data. No accidental payments can be made as your contactless-enabled card must be close to the reader at checkout to work. Even if you tap more than once at checkout, you’ll only get charged once for your purchase.
What do I do if my debit card has been lost or stolen?
If you’ve lost your card or you suspect unauthorized activity on your account, please immediately call us at 833-369-0497.

Travel Notification Procedures
A little bit of preparation before you travel can ensure your banking activities will go smoothly. Please note below the list of blocked countries where your Coastal Heritage Bank debit card presently will not work. If you want to be able to use your card in one of the blocked countries below you must contact us in advance so we can execute a system exception for the duration of your trip.
A few additional suggestions:
- Check your card to make sure it won’t expire while you’re away.
- Confirm your debit card limit for both Purchases and ATM withdrawals, as well as your account balance so you’ll know how much you will be able to charge each day.
- If you plan to use your Coastal Heritage Bank Debit card while travelling abroad (whether in a “blocked” country or not) you can let us know by:
- Contacting our Operations Department at 781-796-6017
- Logging into your online banking account and completing a short form under “Service Center” tab
- Via our mobile app you may submit your travel plans under the Mobile Services\Secure Forms tab
- Make a note of your debit card number, as well as Coastal Heritage Bank’s Customer Service phone numbers, and keep them in a safe place, so you won’t have to scramble in the unlikely event your card is lost or stolen. Remember, never write down your PIN number.
Countries with special consideration
The growing number of fraudulent ATM & debit transactions has caused us to review locations that pose a higher fraud risk. Access to your Coastal Heritage Bank accounts through ATM & Debit Card use will not be available in the following countries unless you notify us in advance of travelling:
